From the President:
LEED High Performance Green Buildings
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has seen tremendous growth since it was first introduced in 1998. Over the past few years, LEED has emerged as the most widely accepted "sustainable" green property rating system for the commercial and industrial type buildings that use energy efficient Cambridge heating equipment.
Recent studies indicate the number of LEED Certified buildings continue to grow and in many areas the supply has not kept up with demand. This is because energy efficient green buildings outperform "non-green" buildings. Developers and property owners are seeing high performance LEED/green buildings obtain higher occupancy, sales price, and rental rates.
As a member of the U.S Green Building Council, Cambridge Engineering is committed to support the growth of the LEED/green building market. I'm pleased to announce that our high performance, energy efficient Blow-Thru Space Heaters are now shipped and labeled as being ASHRAE 90.1 compliant, a basic requirement for all LEED/green buildings. The use of Cambridge heaters can help earn LEED points in the two important categories of Energy Efficiency (EA) and Indoor Air Quality (EA). Properly applied Cambridge heaters can improve indoor air quality, reduce the carbon footprint and achieve significant energy savings for both smaller facilities and larger distribution centers up to 3 million square feet.
