"Blow-Thru
Space Heaters versus Air Turnover Heating Systems"

Are you still using air turnover systems?
If you are still specifying, installing or using indirect gas-fired recirculation heating systems it is time to
reconsider your options. Look at the following testimonials and heads-up comparison between Cambridge® direct gas-fired space heaters and air turnover heating systems.
Contractor Testimonial
A project review meeting for a recently completed 500,000 sq. ft. warehouse in the Northeast was held to discuss final construction costs. The accounting group for a large general contractor said there was an apparent error regarding the installed mechanical cost for the heating/ventilating system. Seems the initial budget had been based on the actual cost to purchase and install an air turnover heating system in a previous identical building. The cost to purchase and install heating/ventilating equipment for the new warehouse came in 30% lower. They wanted to know the reason for the big difference.
You guessed it, the new warehouse used Cambridge Blow-Thru® Space Heaters. The project manager also mentioned how pleased he was with our start-up and that everyone was impressed with how quickly the Cambridge units were able to bring the building up to temperature on a bitter cold day. We can only imagine how happy the building owner must be with his lower operating costs. Direct gas-fired S-Series Space Heaters can use up to 70% less energy than indirect gas-fired air turnover heating systems.
Chief Engineer Testimonial
The largest privately held flat-rolled steel service center network in the U.S. has been using Cambridge® direct gas-fired space heaters for the past 14 years to heat metal buildings that range from 50,000 to 500,000 sq. ft. Their Chief Engineer specified high temperature rise, Blow-Thru® Heaters because "they dry the air and prevent high humidity problems." He replaced air turnover heating systems with Cambridge heaters to save floor space, improve indoor air quality, reduce energy costs and prevent flash rust problems on their steel products.
Building Owner Testimonial
A 40 ft. tall, 340,000 sq. ft. distribution center in the Midwest was originally heated with four large floor mounted air turnover heaters. The system had lots of Btu's and horsepower but it wasn't providing heat in the right places. Upper mezzanines were over heated and the dock floor areas were freezing. The large heaters occupied valuable floor space and were quite noisy. Operating costs were high because the large heating system was running continuously. The owner was not happy.
After four years, management replaced the air turnover heating system with five energy efficient Cambridge Blow-Thru® Space Heaters. The results were dramatic. Additional floor and vertical racking space was made available. The employees enjoyed a quieter and improved work environment with warmer dock door areas and a cooler, more comfortable upper mezzanine. The Director of Distribution Support said the resulting lower operating costs paid for the Cambridge heating system in less than two years.
